New York Comic Con!

This year was my first year as an artist in the Artist Alley of the New York Comic Con! I was excited, nervous and all around happy the entire weekend from all of the love shown by fans, friends and family that stopped by the table and gave their support!  I was especially thrown back by all of those who were wondering what comic I worked on and wondered why I wasn't making comics yet.... that will change very soon everyone, be on the look out, comic pages are on their way! Thank you to everyone who came by and I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did.... now enjoy some cool images I took from the con!

Flash Thompson, VENOM!

Venom

From a bully of Peter Parker to a friend, from a decorated soldier who lost his legs to a government agent, Flash Thompson has become a character that has grown a great deal from his beginnings.  He is now the new Venom, and with the loss of his legs, he uses the Symbiote to take on those that the government deems a threat.

The Marvels

I have enjoyed the discussions about Ms. Marvel's new costume (on the right) and honestly, it's probably the most classic image I have ever seen in this modern age.  Generally when a characters costume is changed, it's very gimmicky and lacks any substance but this change is so different and at the same time very majestic, it does the character honor.

The other character I don't know much about, but I do know her name is Sharon Ventura and she use to go by the Ms. Marvel title. Doing a little research helped me to find out that she use to be the She-Thing as well.  I never understood that character , but it lead to an interesting bunch of stories in the Fantastic Four comic.
I've done a great deal of learning this past year.  This is the original inked drawing that was done and I realized I needed to change the composition. This image alone was fine, but was too static.  Bringing them both closer to the viewer felt more immediate and imposing so I made the changes for the color version.

DBZ style!

Nappa and Vegeta, two characters from the Dragon Ball Z universe who struck fear in their fellow characters and viewers alike!  When i first saw Nappa and what he could do, I felt overcome with a feeling of seeing someone who was like Superman and the Hulk combined! When Vegeta destroyed him because he felt he was an embarrassment to the Saiyan race, he sparked even more fear in all!  Someone so small had so much power. It made for very dramatic, violent cartooning and we all loved it!

Here are the inks for the illustration.  It was nice doing a drawing that didn't need much rendering, I love when the color can do it for me=]
